Intensive Outpatient Program

Boston Addiction Center has an intensive outpatient program (IOP) in Massachusetts for substance abuse and dual diagnosis.

At Boston Addiction, our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offers a structured, evidence-based approach to recovery while allowing you to maintain your work, school, or family commitments. It’s ideal for individuals who need more support than traditional outpatient therapy but don’t require 24/7 residential care.

What Is an IOP?

Our IOP provides flexible treatment tailored to your schedule—typically consisting of 3 to 5 sessions per week. You’ll engage in group therapy, one-on-one counseling, psychoeducation, and holistic therapies—all rooted in proven methods to help you regain control and build a life in recovery.

Who Is IOP For?

IOP is best suited for those who:

  • Have completed a detox or residential program and need continued support

  • Require intensive care but with the freedom to live at home

  • Are transitioning back into daily life while staying focused on recovery

  • Want to prevent relapse and develop long-term coping strategies
